Ginger Snap Old Fashioned
2 oz Austin 111 Rye
.5 oz of ginger snap syrup
1 dash of bitters
Orange peel garnish
A Ginger Snap Old Fashion is cozy spice forward twist on the classic whiskey cocktail. Made with Rye brings out a rich and comforting flavor.
Combine the rye, syrup and bitters in mixing glass with ice. Stir until cold. Strain over large ice cube in old fashion glass. Garnish with orange peel.
*Ginger Snap Simple Syrup
8 oz water
One cup of dark brown sugar
T tsp ground ginger
1 stick cinnamon
4 whole cloves
1/8 tsp ground allspice
Pinch of black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes
Remove from heat and let stand for 30 minutes
Strain through a fine mesh sieve, let cool
Store in glass jar in fridge
